WANA (Apr 14) – The oil ministers of Iran and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding today, Monday, aimed at expanding oil cooperation and exchanging experiences.

 

In this meeting, the two sides discussed the prospects of joint cooperation and, in a joint session, examined mechanisms for enhancing interactions in various oil sectors.

 

At the end of the meeting, memoranda of understanding and agreements were signed in the fields of experience exchange and joint cooperation, which, according to officials, will serve the interests of both countries.

 

The Iraqi oil minister, referring to his country’s gas projects, said: Iraq has promising plans in the field of gas investment and is striving to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of oil products.

 

Mohsen Paknejad, Iran’s oil minister, also expressed appreciation for the Iraqi side’s warm welcome and emphasized the deep cultural ties between the two countries, stating that the continuation of relations in all areas is of great importance.

 

Mohsen Paknejad, Iran’s oil minister, arrived today at Baghdad International Airport at the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart to meet and hold talks to enhance energy cooperation between the two countries.

 

The minister’s trip to Baghdad will last two days, during which he is scheduled to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector.
