Iran and Mexico FMs Discuss Ties, Voice Support for Palestine
WANA (Sep 11) – Alicia Bárcena, Mexico’s Foreign Minister, congratulated Seyed Abbas Araghchi on his appointment as Iran’s Foreign Minister during a phone call, extending her best wishes to him and the people of Iran while expressing Mexico’s support for Palestine.
Bárcena expressed hope that political dialogues and consultations between the two countries would continue. She also reiterated Mexico’s stance on Palestine, emphasizing that her country supports a ceasefire and calls for an immediate end to the violence and bloodshed in Gaza.
Araghchi thanked the Mexican Foreign Minister for her congratulatory message and stressed the importance of expanding bilateral relations, noting the value of continued political consultations between the two friendly nations.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also condemned the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime in Palestine and the region, calling for their immediate cessation.
He affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran would support any ceasefire agreement that is approved by the Palestinian people and resistance groups.
