WANA (Nov 06) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, following his recent visit to Pakistan, reported strengthened coordination between Iran and Pakistan in combating terrorist groups. “We have decided to intensify our actions against these terrorist organizations and improve our coordination,” Araghchi stated.

Speaking to reporters, Araghchi addressed regional security issues and noted that Afghanistan and the threat of terrorism along the Iran-Pakistan border were prominent discussion points.

He underscored both countries’ concerns about the close links between these terrorist groups and Israel, recalling a recent incident in which Israel’s aggressive actions coincided with attacks by terrorist groups, resulting in the deaths of ten Iranian security personnel. Araghchi expressed regret over the incident but highlighted it as evidence of coordinated regional threats.

Pakistan shares this perspective, according to Araghchi, and both sides agreed to increase their collaborative efforts in countering these terrorist groups.

About his trip to Pakistan, Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that substantial discussions and promising agreements were reached. “We also exchanged views on regional matters, and fortunately, Iran and Pakistan’s stances on regional developments are closely aligned,” he added.

Araghchi highlighted Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Israel, describing it as “unprecedented” in Pakistani government circles, the media, and among the public. He emphasized the shared stance between Iran and Pakistan on the need to halt Israeli attacks and ongoing atrocities.

Both countries, he said, are committed to actively promoting this goal in various international forums, including the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.

Araghchi also discussed various opportunities for cooperation in economic, political, cultural, and social fields. “The people-to-people ties between Iran and Pakistan are vibrant and promising,” he said, referring to a productive meeting with Pakistani intellectuals that he described as encouraging for the future of bilateral relations.

Concluding his remarks, Araghchi called the visit highly successful and expressed optimism about future collaboration. “We will pursue the agreements made during this visit to expand our partnership across economic, social, political, and cultural domains, and I am confident we will see positive results,” he concluded.
