WANA (Oct 03) – Senior officials from Iran and Qatar have signed six joint cooperation agreements covering a range of sectors, including economic, trade, cultural, educational, and sports cooperation.

 

Among these, four key agreements were signed in the areas of agriculture, education, ports and maritime affairs, and culture. The Iranian Minister of Energy, serving as the head of the Iran-Qatar Joint Cooperation Commission, signed these documents on behalf of Iran.

 

Some of the notable agreements include collaboration on the development of Dayyer Port, health and welfare initiatives, live trade, a cultural cooperation program extending until 2026, and a sports cooperation program also running through 2026.

 

These agreements were signed by Iran’s Ministers of Energy, Foreign Affairs, and Sports and Youth Affairs, alongside their Qatari counterparts.

 

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Abbas Aliabadi, head of the Iran-Qatar Joint Cooperation Commission, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and the head of the Qatari side of the commission.

 

They discussed expanding economic cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting, it was agreed that the 10th session of the Iran-Qatar Joint Commission would be held in December 2024 in Qatar, with the participation of executive bodies from both countries.
