WANA (Nov 12) – During a meeting between the Senior Advisor to Iran’s Foreign Minister on Special Political Affairs and Syria‘s Chief Negotiator in Astana, both sides emphasized the need to counter the crimes of the Israeli regime and prevent tensions from spreading throughout the region.

 

Ali Asghar Khaji met with Syria’s senior negotiator and accompanying delegation in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

 

This bilateral meeting, held as part of the 22nd international Astana Process talks in Kazakhstan, focused on discussing the current situation in the region, as well as Syria’s political and field developments, especially in light of the Israeli regime’s aggressive crimes and attacks in the region.

 

The Iranian senior advisor reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s full support for Syria and the resistance to counter Israeli occupation and warmongering, describing this principled stance as essential to safeguarding regional peace and stability and supporting the national security of neighboring countries. Khaji highlighted the enduring nature of Iran-Syria relations and reiterated the commitment of both nations to continue and expand their cooperation, especially in countering Israeli crimes and preventing tensions from extending across the region.

 

He also expressed support for ongoing talks aimed at normalizing relations between Syria and Turkey, stressing the positive impact such efforts could have in the region’s current sensitive situation.

 

The Syrian delegation leader emphasized the continuation of strategic ties between Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran, with both countries’ leaders committed to strengthening their relationship.

 

He called for regional cooperation to end the Israeli regime’s wars and crimes, achieve lasting stability and security, and support the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
