Iran Calls for Emergency UN Security Council Meeting in Response to Israeli Attacks
WANA (Oct 26) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for International Affairs announced that Israeli attacks on Iran constitute a violation of fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which mandates respect for the territorial integrity of nations.
He added that these attacks are serious breaches of international law and pose a threat to global peace and security.
In response, Iran has urged the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to take a firm stance and explicitly condemn Israel’s actions.
The Islamic Republic emphasized that Israel’s ongoing and systematic actions carry dangerous consequences, and that the Security Council should not remain silent in the face of such aggression.
Iran has also requested the President of the Security Council to convene an urgent meeting to address Israel’s illegal actions and aggressions.
