WANA (Oct 05) – Ali Bahraini, Iran’s permanent representative in Geneva, has sent letters to major international bodies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, urging immediate action to hold Israel accountable for its recent crimes in Lebanon and Palestine. Bahraini strongly condemned Israel’s latest attacks on Lebanon and called for a swift response from the international community.

In his letters, Bahraini described the Israeli attacks on Beirut, which led to the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and his companions, including Commander Abbas Nilforoushan, as blatant violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. He stressed that these crimes must carry serious legal and political consequences for the global community.

Highlighting the use of American-made weapons by Israel, including BLU-109 bombs and JDAM guidance kits, Bahraini pointed to the complicity of Western nations, especially the United States, in these military operations. He warned that such actions have significant negative impacts on human rights conditions in the region.

Bahraini also reflected on the deteriorating situation in Palestine and Lebanon, stating, “The olive trees, once symbols of life and resilience, now lie buried under the rubble of war. The soil of Palestine seems accustomed to bloodshed, with the silence of the international community contributing to the normalization of these atrocities.”

The Iranian ambassador further emphasized the urgent need for Western countries to halt arms transfers to Israel, underscoring the importance of this demand given the escalating crises in the Middle East. He referred to Hezbollah as a legitimate political entity that stands against occupation and apartheid.

Bahraini also affirmed that Iran’s military forces have conducted precise missile strikes on Israeli military installations in response to Israel’s aggressions, in defense of Iran’s national sovereignty.

In conclusion, the Iranian diplomat called on the global community to take immediate action to stop Israel’s ongoing aggression and withdraw from Lebanese territory, condemning the assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.
