Iran, China friends in difficult times

WANA, Feb 16 (President Office) – In the meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the President described Iran and China as friends in difficult times and appreciated the constructive support of the Chinese National People’s Congress in order to develop cooperation between the two countries.

Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, who has visited the country at the official invitation of the President of China, met and talked with Li Zhanshu, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, as part of his three-day trip to China.

In this meeting, the President emphasised the importance of the role of parliamentary cooperation on the development process of bilateral cooperation, and appreciated the constructive support of the Chinese National People’s Congress in advancing the strategic relations between Iran and China.

Ayatollah Raisi referred to Iran and China as friends in difficult times, referring to the appropriate level of friendly relations and historical closeness of the two countries, and emphasised on the continuation and strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China.

In this meeting, the need to use the capacity of regional and extra-regional mechanisms was emphasised. Further, referring to the achievements of the Chinese National People’s Congress in preparing and approving China’s development plans and programmes, the exchange of experience in this field was emphasised.
