Iran Committed to Diplomacy and Dialogue, Says FM Araghchi
WANA (Mar 20) – Iran remains committed to diplomacy and dialogue, viewing them as viable alternatives to unilateral policies, unjust pressures, oppressive sanctions, and intimidation, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stated in his Nowruz message.
Extending New Year greetings to the Iranian people, Araghchi reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s longstanding stance on negotiations, emphasizing that talks must be conducted on equal footing and serve the interests of the Iranian people.
“Iran has always been open to dialogue and negotiations, provided they are based on mutual respect and fairness,” he said.
The senior Iranian diplomat underscored Tehran’s unwavering commitment to this approach, stressing that Iran will not compromise on its national interests.
“The Iranian nation is honorable, dignified, and self-reliant. We bow to no power except God,” Araghchi declared, adding that Iran’s foreign policy will continue along this path with divine guidance.
Looking ahead, the foreign minister expressed optimism for the new year, vowing increased efforts to safeguard and advance the interests of the Iranian people.
