Iran Condemns Israeli Attack on Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital
WANA (Dec 28) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, strongly condemned the attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza by Israeli forces, describing it as a blatant war crime, a crime against humanity, and a grave violation of international laws and norms.
Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the assault, which included setting the hospital ablaze, aimed to dismantle Gaza’s healthcare system entirely, depriving injured and ill civilians—particularly women and children—of critical medical services.
Baghaei emphasized that Kamal Adwan Hospital was among the last semi-operational medical facilities in northern Gaza.
He labeled the forced evacuation of patients and medical staff, followed by the hospital’s destruction, as a heinous war crime and part of an ongoing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He also criticized the silence of international organizations, calling it unjustifiable and a cause for their international accountability.
The attack occurred on Friday when Israeli forces stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital, forcing 350 individuals, including patients and medical personnel, to evacuate. Gaza’s health director confirmed that critical hospital departments, including the operating room, laboratory, and emergency unit, were set on fire during the assault.
