Iran Condemns Renewed U.S. Military Strikes on Yemen
WANA (Mar 28) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the latest U.S. airstrikes on various regions in Yemen, which resulted in civilian casualties and significant damage to residential areas and infrastructure.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei denounced the attacks as unlawful and unjustified, stating that they violate fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, including humanitarian and human rights regulations. He asserted that Washington bears international responsibility for these “criminal actions.”
Baghaei further claimed that the U.S. military intervention in Yemen is an act of retaliation against the Yemeni people for their solidarity with Palestinians.
He accused the U.S. of targeting Yemen’s infrastructure in an effort to suppress support for Palestine, linking these strikes to broader geopolitical strategies.
The spokesperson also highlighted the alleged involvement of Israel, stating that U.S. military operations in Yemen are conducted with Israeli intelligence and logistical support.
He described these attacks as part of a larger conspiracy aimed at silencing voices in support of Palestine and called them an extension of efforts to eliminate Palestinian resistance.
Calling the U.S. airstrikes a direct threat to international peace and security, Baghaei urged the United Nations Security Council to break its silence and take action against continued violations of Yemen’s sovereignty.
