Iran Condemns Terrorist Attack on Consulate in Aleppo, Syria; All Staff Safe
WANA (Nov 30) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, has strongly condemned the recent attack by terrorist elements on the Iranian Consulate in Aleppo, Syria. He confirmed that all personnel at the consulate are safe and unharmed.
Baghaei emphasized that such actions violate the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, which prohibits any form of attack on consular premises.
He stated that violations of this international convention by any individual, group, or state will not be accepted by Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also announced that it will pursue legal and international actions to address the assault.
In response to questions regarding the status of consulate staff, Baghaei reassured that the Consul General and all members of the consulate in Aleppo are in good health.
