WANA (Sep 05) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, condemned the recent action by the U.S. government in seizing the aircraft used by the Venezuelan president, calling it a violation of international law.

Nasser Kanaani stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing the need for respect for international laws and regulations, views the recent U.S. action in seizing the Venezuelan presidential aircraft as contrary to the principles and standards of international law, especially the immunity of state property and international aviation laws, including the Chicago Convention, and deems it unacceptable.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the recent U.S. action, which follows a pattern of unilateral coercive measures in violation of international law, promotes disorder and air piracy, posing a threat to peace and aviation security.

Kanaani expressed solidarity and support for the Venezuelan government’s efforts to protect and reclaim public assets belonging to the people of Venezuela. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation among nations to counter U.S. sanctions and unilateral coercive measures.
