Iran Condemns UK’s Claims Over Foxtrot Allegations
WANA (Apr 17) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqaei, rejected and condemned the recent accusations made by the UK regime’s foreign secretary against Iran, slamming the allegations as unfounded and unjust.
Baqaei emphasized that attributing the actions of certain groups to the Islamic Republic of Iran is a clear act of deflection, intended to cover up the UK’s own destabilizing activities, particularly in West Asia.
He stressed, “Making such claims against Iran reflects a misguided policy that the UK government has, in recent years, become somewhat addicted to.”
The foreign ministry spokesperson noted, “Despite the Islamic Republic of Iran’s repeated calls for the UK to provide evidence supporting these allegations, the British regime has offered nothing but the repetition of baseless claims.”
He added that the UK government’s policy of “making accusations and allegations” toward Iran will bring nothing but discredit to itself.
Baqaei stressed, “The UK regime must understand that pursuing a policy of unfounded ‘accusations and allegations’ against the Islamic Republic of Iran will deepen distrust and further disrupt diplomatic relations, for which the UK will bear full responsibility.”
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic in London had also strongly rejected recent allegations made by the UK government, calling them unfounded and damaging to bilateral relations.
In an official statement, the Iranian Embassy emphasized: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran categorically rejects accusations linking the Iranian government to the activities of a criminal gang based in Sweden, known as Foxtrot.”
The embassy confirmed it has lodged a formal protest with the British government, noting that the United Kingdom has consistently failed to provide credible and documented evidence in similar cases.
“We consider such baseless positions and destructive behavior to be detrimental to bilateral relations and urge the UK to refrain from adopting hostile approaches towards Iran,” the statement added.
