WANA (Nov 16) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, has firmly denied reports from some U.S. media about a meeting between Elon Musk and Iran’s UN Permanent Representative in New York, expressing surprise at the media hype surrounding the issue.

Earlier, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations had also refrained from commenting on a claim made by The New York Times that Elon Musk, the American billionaire, and Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s UN ambassador, discussed de-escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.

When the Russian news agency TASS asked about the reported meeting, a representative of Iran’s UN mission stated, “We have no comment on this matter.”

The New York Times alleged that Musk and Iravani had a private meeting lasting over an hour at a “secret location” in New York. The report, citing two anonymous Iranian officials, claimed the meeting took place on Monday and described Musk as a close advisor to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
