WANA (Sep 07) – Iran’s mission to the United Nations has rejected claims by US media alleging that the country sent ballistic missiles to Russia.

In response to CNN’s question about reports of such transfers, the Iranian delegation in New York clarified that Iran’s stance on the Ukraine conflict remains “unchanged.”

The mission emphasized that Iran views the delivery of military aid to either side in the conflict as an inhumane act, contributing to increased human and infrastructural damage and distancing both parties from ceasefire negotiations.

“Not only does Iran refrain from such actions, but it also calls on other countries to stop sending weapons to the conflicting parties,” the statement read.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that US officials had informed their European counterparts about Iran allegedly sending short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.

The White House, citing the Journal’s report, claimed that such a transfer would mark a significant escalation in Tehran’s support for Moscow.
