Iran Did Not Expect the Use of Iraqi Airspace by Israel Against Iran
WANA (Nov 02) – Mojtaba Zarei, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, in a letter to Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, the newly appointed Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, congratulated him while expressing his concern over the use of Iraqi airspace by Israeli forces for attacks on Iran.
In this letter, Zarei highlighted Iran’s historical role in supporting Iraq, especially in the fight against ISIS, and reminded that the Iranian people never expected Iraqi airspace to become a platform for aerial aggression by Israeli and American forces. He stressed that the painful memory of the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis by American forces in Iraqi airspace has not been forgotten.
Zarei urged al-Mashhadani to leverage the strength of the Iraqi people and support the country’s independence by facilitating measures to counter the presence and influence of occupiers, ensuring that Iraq remains protected from any military exploitation by foreign forces.
