WANA (Apr 21) – At a joint press conference held this morning at the Tehran International Exhibition Center, Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mojaherani underscored the strategic importance of two upcoming events: the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit and the Seventh Iran Export Capabilities Exhibition (Iran Expo 2025). Both events are scheduled to take place next week, with only a one-day gap between them.

Mojaherani highlighted Africa as one of the world’s most promising and expansive emerging markets, stressing its potential role in advancing Iran’s non-oil exports. She described Iran Expo 2025 as a strategic opportunity to showcase the capacities of Iran’s private sector to an international audience.

Africa: A Key Market for Iran’s Export Strategy

Speaking on the broader economic context, Mojaherani stated: “Exports are a cornerstone of our country’s economic growth strategy. The private sector plays a pivotal role in achieving these goals, and the government is responsible for providing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate their engagement with global markets.”

She emphasized Africa’s special status in the future of the global economy, pointing to its abundant natural and human resources. “Africa has become a major destination for global investment and a burgeoning export market. The Islamic Republic of Iran must enhance its share in this rapidly growing region,” she said.

Iran-Africa Summit Set for April 27

Mojaherani announced that the Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Summit will be held on April 27. The event aims to strengthen bilateral and multilateral economic ties between Iran and African nations, fostering the groundwork for joint contracts and business cooperation between entrepreneurs from both sides.

Iran Expo 2025: A Gateway for Global Business

She also spoke about the concurrent hosting of Iran Expo 2025 and the Iran-Africa Summit, noting: “Iran Expo offers an effective platform to introduce our country’s production and export capabilities. We anticipate the arrival of 2,000 to 3,000 foreign traders and businesspeople from various countries who will attend the event for business negotiations and exploration.”

Mojaherani emphasized that the participation of such a large number of international economic actors presents a rare opportunity for the Iranian private sector to engage in effective trade talks and marketing initiatives aimed at expanding exports.

Government Support Amid Economic Challenges

Acknowledging the impact of recent economic developments on the private sector, she noted: “The government believes that initiatives like these can help address existing weaknesses. Our entrepreneurs and industrialists, whether in technical and engineering services or manufacturing, possess high capabilities and can perform effectively in such arenas.”

According to the spokesperson, the exhibition will operate on three levels of economic interaction:

  • Government to Government (G2G)
  • Government to Business (G2B)
  • Business to Business (B2B)

“These multi-layered engagements significantly enhance the potential for operational and strategic agreements,” she said.

Advancing National Goals through International Engagement

In her closing remarks, Mojaherani described Iran Expo 2025 as a valuable opportunity to activate Iran’s export potential and connect the private sector to international markets. “This initiative aligns with the Supreme Leader’s emphasis and the government’s macroeconomic strategy for the Year of ‘Investment for Production’. It seeks to boost employment, drive economic growth, and elevate Iran’s presence in the global economy.”

She called on media outlets to provide professional and widespread coverage of these events, stating: “Iran is a country rich in cultural heritage, blessed with diverse resources, a beautiful landscape, and comprehensive economic plans. Promoting events like this can significantly strengthen our international relationships.”

A Call for Accurate Representation of Iran

Mojaherani concluded: “We will do our utmost to fulfill our duty to our nation. The government is fully committed to creating the necessary infrastructure, and I extend my sincere gratitude to all those involved. Organizing such an event is no easy task—it demands days and nights of effort.

Once again, I urge the media to help convey the true image of Iran—a safe, stable, and opportunity-rich destination for economic activity. We must collectively reject the false narrative of ‘Iranophobia’ spread by hostile media. This is our shared responsibility in a world dominated by competing narratives. Let us together create a real and accurate picture of Iran.”
