Iran Has Potential to Join Leading Passenger Aircraft Manufacturers
WANA (Dec 14) – Iran’s Defense Ministry spokesperson stated that Iran possesses the scientific and potential capacity to join leading countries in passenger and commercial aircraft production.
Speaking at the 12th International Air and Space Exhibition in Iran, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik highlighted the event’s showcase of national and international aerospace capabilities.
The exhibition features contributions from industrial organizations, research centers, and knowledge-based companies, with participation from countries like China, Russia, Pakistan, and Malaysia.
He emphasized that the exhibition reflects collaboration in aviation technologies, covering fields like avionics, navigation, and electronics. The presence of high-ranking officials underscores the strategic importance of the aviation sector in Iran’s 7th Development Plan.
Talaei-Nik mentioned that the Defense Ministry has proposed structured plans to develop dual-use aviation technologies. Following the ratification of Article 102 of Iran’s 7th Development Plan, opportunities for private sector and knowledge-based companies to engage in aviation will expand.
He concluded by noting that civil aircraft production is underway, but accelerating progress requires government support and national cooperation.
