WANA (Feb 14) – Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has strongly dismissed the allegations made by the U.S. representative during Thursday’s UN Security Council meeting on Yemen.

In an official letter, the mission reaffirmed that Iran’s longstanding policy has always been to support peace, stability, and a political resolution to the crisis in Yemen.

The letter, addressed to the Security Council and UN Secretary-General, stated: “Washington cannot conceal its complicity in the crimes of the Israeli regime by falsely accusing Iran. Unlike the United States, which fuels regional conflicts by providing weapons and extensive financial support to this regime, the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to fundamental principles of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions.”

Iran’s UN mission also rejected any claims of violating arms embargoes or escalating the conflict in Yemen, emphasizing that Tehran’s stance on the crisis has been consistent and unwavering. The statement stressed that “the Yemeni crisis must be resolved through a comprehensive political process that safeguards the country’s sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.”

Furthermore, the letter reiterated Iran’s position from the onset of the crisis, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities, a ceasefire, and meaningful dialogue among Yemeni parties to achieve a peaceful resolution without foreign interference.

“The future of Yemen must be determined solely by its people. Lasting peace can only be achieved through diplomacy, respect for national sovereignty, and adherence to international law—not through military interventions or baseless accusations,” the mission underscored.
