Iran Rejects UK Terror Plot Allegations as Fabricated
WANA (May 08) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has strongly rejected what he described as storytelling in British media surrounding the recent arrest of several Iranian nationals in the United Kingdom, allegedly linked to a foiled terrorist plot.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi condemned the reports suggesting that Iranian citizens were involved in a conspiracy to target the Israeli Embassy in London.
“We are seeing stories in the media that Iranian nationals are allegedly involved in a supposed plot to target the Israeli embassy in London,” he wrote.
Araghchi categorically denied any Iranian involvement in such acts, stressing, “Iran in no uncertain terms categorically rejects any involvement in such actions and confirms that we have not been informed of any allegations via proper diplomatic channels.”
“Iran has urged the UK to engage so that we may assist any probe into credible allegations. Timing and lack of engagement suggest that something is amiss,” he stated.
He further warned that “There is a history of third parties bent on derailing diplomacy and provoking escalation, resorting to desperate measures, including false flag operations.”
Reaffirming Iran’s readiness to cooperate, Araghchi emphasized, “Iran stands ready to engage to shed light on what has truly transpired, and we reiterate that UK authorities should afford our citizens due process.”
The Arrest Background of Iranian Citizens Arrested in the UK
