WANA (Mar 24) – Iran’s Foreign Minister has reaffirmed that the country will not engage in direct negotiations with the United States under maximum pressure and daily threats, calling it a clear and unwavering policy.

In response to a question about potential talks with Washington, he stated: “As long as there is no change in the U.S. approach toward Iran and its people, we will not enter direct negotiations under pressure and threats. This is our firm stance.”

He further criticized U.S. accusations and policies against Iran, as well as what he described as unreasonable and unacceptable demands. However, he noted that indirect negotiations through various channels remain possible.

Defensive Readiness and Deterrence

The Foreign Minister also underscored Iran’s military and civil preparedness, asserting that the country’s level of readiness serves as a deterrent.

“With this level of preparedness, no one would even dare to think about attacking Iran, as they are well aware of the consequences,” he stated.

He praised the armed forces, emergency services, and the public for their readiness, emphasizing that this collective strength enhances Iran’s security, power, and resilience against external threats.

Commitment to National Interests

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s priority is safeguarding national interests and security, asserting that no opportunity to achieve this goal will be overlooked.

Addressing the country’s economic policies, the Foreign Minister highlighted the government’s focus on investment and production, in line with the Supreme Leader’s designation of the year’s economic theme: “Investment for Production.” He stressed efforts to attract both foreign investments and contributions from Iranians living abroad.

“As the Supreme Leader stated, investment in production is not limited to foreign investors. Domestic opportunities and the capital of Iranians abroad should also contribute to boosting production,” he added.

Araghchi called on the government to simplify regulations related to the return and mobility of expatriate Iranians, ensuring smoother investment processes.
