WANA (July 23) – The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Mustafa University stated that Iran-Russia relations are currently at their best historical conditions and position. He said the determination of the leaders of both countries is based on the development and deepening of these relations.

 

Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the Director of Iran’s Seminary Schools, during a visit to the Moscow State Library and a meeting with Mr. Vadim Duda, the head of this library and the President of the Russian Library Association, mentioned that Iran-Russia relations are at their best historical conditions and position.

 

He said the determination of the leaders of both countries is based on the development and deepening of these relations.

 

He noted that the relations between Iran and Russia not only influence the two countries and their people but also have an impact on the region and the world. In this context, thought, culture, and knowledge as the foundation of relations between nations and countries are of high importance and value.

 

Ayatollah Arafi, referring to the ancient background of books and knowledge in both Iran and Russia, pointed out that if the aim is to develop deep and sustainable bilateral cultural relations, it is necessary to also strengthen relations based on sciences, books, and reading. Therefore, we support creating opportunities for more cooperation between the libraries of the two countries.

 

The Director of the Seminary Schools also invited the head of the Russian State Library to visit the reference libraries in Iran, including those in the cities of Mashhad and Qom, highlighting that the Ayatollah Marashi Najafi Library in Qom houses documents and historical books containing significant discussions in human history.

 

He reminded that Qom, as a major religious and scientific center in Iran, is the educational hub for over one hundred thousand students from Iran and around the world in the field of Islamic sciences.

 

In another part of his speech, the member of the Guardian Council emphasized the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of books. He said that to deepen the relations between the two countries, the doors of their libraries must be open to researchers and scholars from each country.

 

During his visit to the Russian State Library, one of the largest libraries in the world in Moscow, the Director of the Seminary Schools also emphasized the development of bilateral religious and cultural relations in cultural and scientific fields, books, and reading.
