Iran Supports the Resistance
WANA (Feb 01) – The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut emphasized that Iran supports the resistance in the region.
Mojtaba Amani, Iran’s ambassador to Beirut, told Al-Ahed: “Despite all the statements made against Iran, the country continues to support members of the resistance in the region. This is a strategic decision by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Zionist regime will gain nothing from these crimes, as our experience in the Islamic Republic has proven that such actions only strengthen Iran’s position in this regard.”
Previously, Vahid Jalalzadeh, Iran’s Deputy Minister for Consular Affairs, Parliament, and Iranian Expatriates—who is currently visiting Lebanon—spoke at the site of the assassination of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, in Beirut. He stated: “Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah dedicated his entire life to the path of martyrdom, and in the end, he achieved his lifelong aspiration—walking the path of Seyyed al-Shuhada (Imam Hussein).”
He added, “Today, we are here witnessing the defeat of the enemies. I hope the Lebanese people and government continue to advance, and that the people of this land experience better days ahead.”
Jalalzadeh met with several Lebanese officials and reaffirmed Iran’s support for the resistance and the people of Lebanon in their struggle against the Zionist enemy.
He also held talks with Abdallah Bou Habib, Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, reiterating Iran’s support for the country.
Jalalzadeh stated: “I discussed the latest issues concerning Syrian citizens of Iranian origin who took refuge in Lebanon due to the Syrian crisis. I urged Lebanese authorities to cooperate in providing them with the necessary services.”
He further expressed confidence that with the election of a new Lebanese president and the approaching formation of the Lebanese government, these developments would serve as a catalyst for reconstruction and progress.
Additionally, Jalalzadeh met with Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, where they discussed regional developments, Lebanon’s internal situation, and bilateral relations.
