WANA (Sep 15) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London, referring to the successful launch of the “Chamran-1” research satellite and the country’s space industry advancements despite the West’s oppressive sanctions, emphasized: Speak to Iran with the language of respect, not sanctions.

In a message posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Iranian Embassy in London wrote: Iran has successfully launched its domestically produced Chamran research satellite into space. The time when Iran was seeking even a single missile from country to country to defend itself has passed, and today, despite sanctions, it is launching its own advanced satellite into space.

The message added: So, speak to Iran with the language of respect, not sanctions.

The “Chamran-1” satellite was launched on the morning of Saturday, September 14, 2024, and was placed in a 550 km orbit, transmitting its first signals.

This research satellite was designed and built by the Space Group of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) in collaboration with the Aerospace Research Institute and private knowledge-based companies.

The satellite weighs approximately 60 kilograms, and its main mission is to test hardware and software systems for proving orbital maneuver technology in height and phase. Evaluating the cold gas propulsion subsystem in space systems and the performance of navigation and attitude control subsystems are among the secondary missions of the “Chamran-1” satellite.
