WANA (Mar 25) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss regional and international developments.

During the call, the two officials exchanged views on key regional issues, particularly the situation in occupied Palestine, the resumption of Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, Israeli aggression against Syria, and U.S. military strikes on Yemen.

Fidan, referring to his participation in the recent Arab-Islamic Contact Group meeting in Cairo on the Gaza crisis, stressed the importance of greater engagement from Muslim nations in supporting the Palestinian people.

Iran’s top diplomat condemned Israel’s crimes and violations against Gaza and Lebanon, emphasizing that these acts constitute a blatant breach of ceasefire agreements. He called for an urgent response from the international community, particularly Islamic and regional countries, to halt Israel’s atrocities.

Araghchi also condemned the U.S. airstrikes on Yemen, which coincided with Israel’s renewed aggression in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. He underscored the need for greater coordination among regional countries to counter external aggression and prevent further instability in the region.

On domestic developments in Turkey, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s principled stance, stating that Turkey’s internal affairs are a sovereign matter. He expressed confidence that Turkish authorities would manage the situation in line with the nation’s interests.

At the beginning of the call, Hakan Fidan extended his New Year and Nowruz greetings to the Iranian foreign minister and reiterated Turkey’s readiness to assist in finding diplomatic solutions to regional and international challenges.
