WANA (Sep 28) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, addressed the UN Security Council, urging immediate action to halt Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Palestine and Lebanon. Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s full support for Lebanon and the resistance movement, condemning Israel’s actions as genocidal.

Araghchi highlighted that nearly a year has passed since Israel began its genocidal campaign against Palestinians, resulting in over 200,000 casualties, including deaths, injuries, and those trapped under rubble.

He criticized the UN Security Council’s inaction, stating, “The United Nations has done nothing to stop the slaughter. Why? Because the United States and some Western countries place no value on the lives of people in our region or peace in the Middle East.”

Regarding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly, Araghchi noted, “Many delegations walked out during Netanyahu’s speech. The world must rise and stop this bloodthirsty monster, who is no less dangerous than Hitler.”

Araghchi also pointed to Israel’s recent airstrikes on Beirut, where 5,000-pound bunker-busting bombs were used in residential areas, calling it a war crime.

He stressed that this boldness comes from U.S. support, adding, “The UN’s credibility is at stake, and its failure to stop Israel’s crimes seriously undermines its authority.”

Araghchi further demanded that the International Criminal Court issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his associates, holding them accountable for war crimes.

In closing, Araghchi expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people, reiterating Iran’s steadfast support for Lebanon and the resistance against Israeli aggression.

Additionally, in another message in the wake of Israel’s recent strikes on Beirut, Araghchi condemned the attacks again, stating, “The illegitimate Zionist regime is built on the foundation of terror and the killing of innocent civilians, especially women and children.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister also reiterated his condemnation of the killing of over 43,000 Palestinians and the wounding of 93,000 in Gaza within a year, calling it a crime against humanity and genocide.

He urged the UN Security Council to take decisive action and called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold an emergency summit to address the ongoing crisis.
