WANA (Mar 23) – Iran has called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and guarantor states of the ceasefire agreement, to take urgent and effective measures to stop Israel’s military aggression against Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei strongly condemned Israel’s large-scale military strikes on various parts of Lebanon, which have resulted in dozens of civilian casualties.

Baghaei described Israel’s repeated attacks on Lebanon and Syria—amid the ongoing escalation in Gaza and the West Bank—as a serious threat to international peace and security.

Highlighting Israel’s numerous ceasefire violations over the past two months, he noted that the intensified strikes on Lebanon in the past three days were yet another example of Tel Aviv’s defiance of international legal norms.

He emphasized the responsibility of the global community, particularly the UN Security Council and ceasefire guarantors, to take immediate action to end the hostilities.

The spokesperson also extended condolences to the families of Lebanese victims and expressed solidarity with the people and government of Lebanon, wishing a swift recovery for the wounded.
