WANA (Oct 23) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that “if Israel makes any misstep or takes action against the Islamic Republic, it will face a decisive and unimaginable response.”

During his ongoing visit to Russia, where he met with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, Pezeshkian noted that Israel has attempted to disrupt Iran’s objectives since the beginning of his presidency, specifically citing the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a guest of the Islamic Republic.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has shown restraint in hopes of establishing a ceasefire in Gaza, but the continuation of Israeli aggression and its expansion into Lebanon has forced Iran to react. He described Western support as a significant factor in the ongoing Israeli actions and reiterated that any aggression from Israel would be met with a strong response.

“We do not wish to escalate conflict and tension in the region and welcome any actions aimed at peace and stability. However, Israel’s actions seem designed to ignite the entire region, and it is essential for other countries, especially in the West, to control this aggressive regime,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, acknowledged that Iran is a recognized country in Ethiopia and that there is a positive history of relations between the two nations.

He expressed concern over the developments in the region and emphasized that Iran is a strong and independent country. Ahmed also pointed out that current global and regional structures are unequal, and organizations like BRICS play a crucial role in addressing these disparities.
