Iran Will Not Accept the Arrogant Powers’ Demands
WANA (Mar 08) – The Supreme Leader of Iran emphasized that some arrogant governments insist on negotiations not to resolve issues but to impose their own demands. He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly not accept these demands.
Ayatollah Khamenei made these remarks this evening, Saturday, March 8, 2025, during a meeting with the heads of the branches of government and a group of senior officials of the Islamic Republic. This annual meeting, held during the holy month of Ramadan, is one of the most important gatherings where key issues, general policies, and the strategic roadmap of the Islamic Republic are outlined.
We Cannot Follow Western Civilization’s Principles
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the foundations of Western civilization are fundamentally opposed to Islamic principles and cannot be followed. “We can and must benefit from any advantage anywhere in the world, but when it comes to fundamental principles, we cannot rely on the foundations of Western civilization,” he said.
“The foundations of that civilization are flawed; they contradict Islamic values. Their values are entirely different. That is why, in Western societies, you see things being legally, socially, and even in the media, openly accepted—things that one would be ashamed to even think about.”

The West’s Double Standards Are a Disgrace
The Supreme Leader pointed out the hypocrisy of Western nations: “Western double standards are truly disgraceful; they expose the falsehood of their claims. They claim to support the free flow of information. Is that really the case? Does free information truly exist in the West? Can you mention the name of General Qassem Soleimani, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, or Ismael Haniyeh on Western-controlled digital platforms? Can you protest against the crimes committed in Palestine and Lebanon? Can you question the claims about Nazi Germany’s treatment of Jews? Is this their so-called free flow of information? This civilization has revealed its true nature.”
Iran Will Not Accept the Arrogant Powers’ Demands
Speaking about foreign policy, Ayatollah Khamenei criticized the approach of some Western governments:
“Some arrogant governments insist on negotiations, but not to solve problems—they seek to dictate and impose their demands. Their idea of negotiation is that we sit at the table, and they impose their will. If we comply, fine; if we refuse, they create uproar.
For them, negotiation is a tool to push new demands. This is not just about the nuclear issue—they will always come up with new demands, which Iran will certainly never accept.
They want to interfere in our defense capabilities, in our international influence. They say, ‘Don’t produce this weapon,’ or ‘Your missile range should not exceed a certain limit.’ Their negotiations are about such things. They repeatedly call for negotiations to create pressure in public opinion, saying, ‘The other side is ready to negotiate—why isn’t Iran?’ But this is not negotiation; it is coercion and imposition. The Islamic Republic of Iran will never accept such demands.”
“The insistence of some bullying governments on #negotiations is not aimed at solving issues but rather at asserting dominance and imposing their own demands. The Islamic Republic of #Iran will certainly not accept their demands.”

European Claims Against Iran Are Baseless
Ayatollah Khamenei also responded to recent European statements:
“Now, the three European countries issue statements claiming that Iran has not fulfilled its nuclear commitments under the JCPOA. Let’s ask them: Have you honored your commitments? You claim that Iran has failed to fulfill its obligations, but have you fulfilled yours? From day one, you did not comply. Then, when the U.S. withdrew, you promised to compensate, but you failed. Then you made another promise, and again, you broke it.
Finally, there is a limit to being blind?! They fail to fulfill their own commitments, and then they accuse Iran of non-compliance! The Iranian government at the time tolerated this for a year before the Parliament took action and passed a resolution. There was no other choice. The same principle applies today: in the face of coercion and bullying, there is no alternative but to stand firm.”

As in previous years, the meeting was attended by senior military and civilian officials, former officials, and social and cultural figures. Before the Leader’s speech, President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the audience.
Pezeshkian stated: “No power can defeat a nation that stands together, follows a single leader, and moves toward one direction. We have the ability to disrupt their plans. Whatever threats our enemies make, we must not back down. This unity is our strength, and if we maintain it, we will be able to stand against our adversaries.”
Trump’s Letter to Khamenei: What’s the Response?
WANA (Mar 08) – Donald Trump told Fox Business that on Thursday, he had written a letter addressed to Iran’s Supreme Leader.
