WANA (July 28) – Mojtaba Amani, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut, took to his personal social media page on X to address the recent threats made by the Israeli regime against Lebanon and Hezbollah. He stated, “Regardless of the performative aspects that the occupying regime employs, our stance on the threats of expanding the war remains summarized in three points.”

The Iranian Ambassador in Lebanon continued, “Firstly, we do not expect a war and believe that due to the imposed power dynamics, the likelihood is very low. Secondly, we do not desire war, as the Islamic Republic of Iran has always strived to reduce regional tensions.”

Amani noted, “Thirdly, we are not genuinely afraid of war. Our enemies must understand what we can do with our strength and ability to defend the resistance.”

This new wave of threats from the Israeli regime against Hezbollah began after explosive devices hit the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights yesterday evening, resulting in 11 deaths and about 30 injuries, including several children.

Following this incident, Israeli authorities quickly pointed fingers at Hezbollah and launched a wide-ranging media campaign. However, Hezbollah Lebanon issued an official statement vehemently denying the allegations made by Israeli media and refuting any involvement in the Majdal Shams attack.

Despite Hezbollah’s firm denial, Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupying army, claimed, “The Majdal Shams incident is the most dangerous event against civilians since October 7. We are preparing a response against Hezbollah.”

Some sources have suggested that an Israeli defense missile was the cause of the incident. The Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom” reported, “Initial investigations indicate that the air defense system malfunctioned in intercepting missiles fired in the Majdal Shams area in the Golan.”

Furthermore, a U.S. official told the news website Axios that Hezbollah Lebanon informed the United Nations that the Majdal Shams incident resulted from an Israeli defense missile falling on a football field.
