Iranian Ambassador Links Recent Terrorist Attacks in Syria to Israel’s Defeat in Lebanon
WANA (Dec 01) – Iran’s Ambassador to Syria, Hossein Akbari, highlighted a connection between recent terrorist attacks in Syria and Israel’s defeat in Lebanon. “There is a clear link between the terrorists’ actions in Syria and the setbacks faced by the Zionist regime in Lebanon,” Akbari stated.
Akbari noted that the advanced weaponry used by terrorists suggests direct support and involvement from European nations and others.
He emphasized that the attacks aim to retaliate against Syria for its steadfast support of the Resistance Axis and Hezbollah.
The ambassador also accused the United States of escalating security pressures on the Syrian government, particularly in southern provinces.
These remarks followed a statement by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, who announced that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi would visit Damascus on Sunday for talks with Syrian officials.
Araghchi’s itinerary includes a subsequent trip to Ankara for discussions with Turkish authorities before heading to his next destination.
