Iranian and Russian Presidents Hold Phone call
WANA (May 06) – َAccording to the Kremlin, a phone call was held between Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, Presidents of Russia and Iran.
Agreement to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
During this call, they discussed the expansion of trade relations and investment, including through the implementation of major projects in the fields of transportation and energy.
Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, the Presidents of Russia and Iran, agreed to increase joint cooperation to strengthen practical cooperation and coordination in foreign policy.
Discussion on Iran-U.S. Nuclear Talks
The Kremlin also stated that the parties discussed the progress of negotiations between Iran and the United States, mediated by Oman, on Iran’s nuclear program, as well as the development of bilateral cooperation based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.
The Kremlin, noting that during the call, “Putin emphasized Russia’s readiness to advance dialogue with the aim of achieving a fair agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.”
“Issues related to the further development of Russia-Iran cooperation based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, which was signed during the official visit of Iran’s President to Russia, were discussed in detail, ” the Kremlin mentioned.
It added: “The two sides also paid special attention to expanding trade relations and mutually beneficial investment, including through the implementation of major joint projects in the fields of transportation and energy.”
Russian President Condoles Over Port Explosion
The Kremlin also said that Putin expressed his sincere condolences to the President of Iran for the deaths of dozens of people in the explosion on April 26 at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran.
Iranian President Congratulates Russia
In his conversation, the Iranian president warmly congratulated Putin and all Russian citizens on the 80th anniversary of the country’s victory in World War II, known as Victory Day.
