Iranian and Turkish FMs Discuss Iran’s Nuclear Talks in Phone Call
WANA (May 18) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation on Sunday to discuss the ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
According to a statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the two sides exchanged views on the recent diplomatic developments surrounding Iran’s nuclear file.
The call comes shortly after the fourth round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, which took place last week in Muscat, the capital of Oman. Both parties described the talks as “difficult but constructive and forward-looking.”
Simultaneously, the Islamic Republic of Iran held separate discussions on Friday in Istanbul with representatives from the UK, France, and Germany — the three European signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
