WANA (Nov 29) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has attributed the resurgence of terrorist groups in Syria to what he described as a “U.S.-Israeli scheme,” following the recent setbacks suffered by the Israeli regime against resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine.

In a phone call with Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh earlier today, Araghchi discussed the latest developments in Syria and the broader region. Both officials exchanged views on strategies to counter the challenges posed by renewed militant activity.

According to Sabbagh, the Syrian government and people remain steadfast in their resistance against terrorist attacks, particularly in the northern regions of the country, where militant assaults have intensified. He emphasized Syria’s determination to thwart terrorists and their backers, preventing them from achieving their “malicious goals.”

Araghchi reiterated Iran’s firm commitment to supporting the Syrian government, its people, and military forces in their fight against terrorism. He also underscored Tehran’s dedication to preserving regional security and stability amid these challenges.

The call highlights Iran’s continued alignment with Damascus as both nations confront what they perceive as externally orchestrated threats to their sovereignty.
