WANA (Feb 10) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, continuing his consultations on regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza, held a phone conversation today with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

Condemning the U.S.-Israeli plan for the forced displacement of Gazans and their expulsion to other countries, the Iranian foreign minister stressed the need for the UN, especially the Security Council, to take a firm and clear stance against this dangerous conspiracy that threatens international peace and security. He added that the proposal to forcibly relocate Palestinians violates all principles of international law and the UN Charter, effectively serving as a continuation of Israel’s plan for genocide and the erasure of Palestine.

Araghchi also referred to his intensive consultations with foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic countries, emphasizing that the strong condemnation of Gaza’s forced displacement by Islamic nations reflects the region’s deep concern over the continued gross violations of Palestinian rights and the ongoing genocide through different means.

He described the recent remarks by Israel’s prime minister about transferring Palestinians to Saudi Arabia as a blatant example of the regime’s audacious and shameless approach. Condemning this stance, he asserted that the international community must prevent the normalization of lawlessness and criminality by the occupying regime.

The UN Secretary-General firmly reiterated the UN’s opposition to any plan involving the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland. He emphasized the necessity of respecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and categorically rejected any forced relocation of Gaza’s population.

He further highlighted that the immediate priority is to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and support its reconstruction, stressing that every effort will be made in this regard.
