WANA (Feb 22) – A member of the Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board announced that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, along with several parliament members and some Iranian officials, will travel to Lebanon tomorrow, Sunday, to attend the funeral ceremony of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyed Hashem Safieddine.

 

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously stated that decisions have been made regarding an Iranian delegation attending the funeral of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah. High-ranking officials from various branches of government, parliament, and different political factions will participate in the ceremony.

 

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei also confirmed that Iranian officials will attend the Beirut funeral, stating, “We will participate in the funeral of Martyr Hassan Nasrallah at the highest level.”

 

The funeral of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2025, with officials from various countries, including Yemen, Iraq, and Iran, expected to be present.

 

The coordinator of the High Committee for the Funeral Ceremony of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the late Secretary-General of Hezbollah, and Hashem Safi al-Din, the late head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, announced that representatives from 79 countries, both officially and from the public, will attend the ceremony.

 

Analysts believe that this event will go beyond a mere funeral and will serve as a demonstration of popular power and the unwavering commitment of various movements to the axis of resistance.

 

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, was killed on Friday, September 27, 2024, in an attack by the Israeli regime on Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh.

 

Hezbollah confirmed his death in a statement issued on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Nasrallah, who led the organization for 32 years, was killed at the age of 64.
