WANA (Aug 24) – The Iranian Paralympic team arrived in Paris on Friday, August 23, greeted by Mohammad Amin Nejad, the Iranian Ambassador to France.

 

The delegation includes 65 athletes competing in 10 sports: men’s sitting volleyball, para-taekwondo, para-athletics, para-shooting, para-archery, para-canoe, men’s goalball, para-swimming, para-judo, and para-weightlifting, at the 17th Summer Paralympic Games.

 

The youngest athlete in the Iranian team is 15-year-old Zahra Rahimi from the para-taekwondo team, while the oldest is 51-year-old Seyed Mohammad Reza Mirshafiei from the para-shooting team.

 

Additionally, Iranian referees will officiate in several events at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, including para-badminton, wheelchair basketball, para-taekwondo, para-table tennis, para-triathlon, para-archery, blind football, and sitting volleyball.

  • Para-Taekwondo: Marjan Taimouri
  • Para-Table Tennis: Simin Rezaei
  • Para-Archery: Ghazaleh Rasouli
  • Para-Triathlon: Sajjad Bagherian
  • Blind Football: Farzad Felfeli
  • Sitting Volleyball: Mehdi Navidikia

 

The competitions for the Iranian team will begin with para-taekwondo on Thursday, August 29, and conclude with para-weightlifting on Sunday, September 8.
