WANA (Feb 09) – Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the need for an international coalition, particularly with the participation of Islamic countries, to assist the people of Gaza and rebuild the war-torn region. He stated that through mutual cooperation, Islamic nations can restore Gaza and bring life back to its people.

During a meeting on Saturday with the leadership council of Hamas, Pezeshkian honored the memory of fallen resistance fighters and congratulated the people of Gaza on their resilience against Israel. He praised their achievements in thwarting the enemy’s objectives despite the high cost of lives, calling their resistance “commendable.”

“The great achievements of Gaza’s people in preventing the Zionist enemy from realizing its goals are admirable, despite the high number of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of their land,” Pezeshkian said. “We congratulate all fighters and the people of Gaza on this victory.”

Reaffirming Iran’s unwavering support for the resistance front, Pezeshkian expressed confidence in the ultimate triumph of the Palestinian cause, citing Islamic teachings that promise divine assistance.

A senior Hamas official, in turn, expressed gratitude for Iran’s support, stating that Palestinian resistance is preparing for the final phase of its struggle—the full liberation of Palestine. He noted the symbolic timing of the meeting, coinciding with the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and Gaza’s recent victories.

The Hamas official also commemorated the more than 60,000 martyrs of Gaza and prominent resistance leaders, emphasizing that while the sounds of bombs and missiles may have ceased, the memory of the war and the resistance’s victories in Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen remain etched in history.

“What secured our victory over the Zionist regime was not weapons or ammunition, but true faith in God and our unwavering determination to free our land,” he stated. “The people of Gaza stand at the forefront of the resistance, and this victory belongs to them.”

He dismissed recent statements from the U.S. and Israel regarding Gaza’s future, asserting that the region belongs to its people and will be governed through a national Palestinian partnership.
