WANA (Oct 23) – In a brief meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, Iranian President Masoud Bezhad and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed key issues affecting both nations, including the urgent need to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.

 

In addition to this encounter, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met separately with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. According to Araghchi, the primary focus of their discussions was the necessity of stopping Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, an issue on which both countries share a common stance.

 

Araghchi also noted that the meetings addressed some differences of opinion between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of seizing every opportunity to firmly articulate and defend the positions and interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly regarding the matter of the three Iranian islands.
