WANA (Feb 16) – Hosna Salimi, a PhD student in Indian Studies at the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran, and an intern at the Asian Mayors’ Forum, has been named the 2025 “Young Researcher of the Year” for BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Salimi was nominated by the Forum for the prestigious “BRICS and SCO Young Leaders Award” event.

 

Out of over 400 participants from 13 countries—including Iran, India, China, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Brazil, Ethiopia, Tajikistan, and Russia—Salimi was one of the 10 selected winners. The awards were presented during a ceremony held in Kazan, Russia.

 

The “BRICS and SCO Young Leaders Award” is an annual recognition presented in five categories: “Best Public Diplomacy Project of the Year,” “Most Influential Media Personality of the Year,” “Social Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Environmental Initiative of the Year,” and “Researcher of the Year.”
