Iranian Students Score 8 Medals at Global Invention Fair
WANA (Aug 27) – In the 2024 Global Science and Invention Fair held in the U.S., Iranian students made an impressive showing, securing a total of 8 medals. The event took place from August 21 to August 24 at the University of Virginia and was supported by major scientific organizations and tech giants such as Google and Microsoft.
Mehdi Rashidi Jahanshahi, the head of the Iranian student teams, announced that Iranian participants won 2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Gold medals were earned by teams led by Amirali Dadkhah and Mohammad Hossein Bahrami in Electronics, and Amirhossein Manafi in Materials Science.
Silver medals were awarded to Arshan Hajmali and Aryan Asgari in Robotics, Ilya Reza Zadeh and Padra Ghazviniyan in Electronics, and Parham Arabzadeh in Biotechnology.
Bronze medals went to the five-member team of Artin Radmatin, Aran Sofizadeh, Baran Bahman, Baran Dareskhandeh, and Niki Abtahi in Environmental Protection; the team of Mehrad Faridi and Ilya Hajji in Mechatronics; and the duo of Amir Mohammad Kazemian and Armin Toohid Asl in Electronics.
This year’s competition featured over 1,000 participants from 34 countries across 12 disciplines, highlighting the remarkable talents of Iranian students on a global stage.
