WANA (August 17)Habib Jahansaz, the head of the Iran Tea Organization, stated today during his visit to the Fuman tea factories that 12 containers of tea have been exported from Gilan to Central Asia.

 

He mentioned that the door to tea export has been opened, and the tea factories in Gilan province with export capacity are already utilizing this opportunity.

 

He stated that around 12,000 tons of Iranian tea are exported annually to twenty-three countries, including neighboring and European countries. Also, last year, 15,000 tons of Iranian tea were exported.

 

The head of the country’s tea organization stated that Iranian tea exports earn 20 million dollars annually by reaching desired destinations in neighboring countries and Europe. Efforts are underway to ensure that this export and currency earning continues.

 

Tea factory owners also mentioned that purchasing Iranian tea in international markets is no issue. However, the export infrastructure poses challenges for tea factories and exporters, which the authorities must address.
