WANA (July 05) – Acording to the spokesperson for the country’s election headquarters, voter turnout in the second round of the fourteenth presidential election exceeded the 40% turnout of the first round.

Reports up to this publication indicate that the increase in participation compared to the first round is around 8%.

This is in contrast to the only other presidential election after the revolution that went to a second round, where turnout decreased by about 3% in the second round.

Some experts believe that the more competitive nature of the election in the second round, and especially the more intense debates between presidential candidates, have been significant factors in the increased turnout.
