WANA (August 11)In a phone conversation, Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri, spoke with Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib regarding the recent aggressive and terrorist actions of the Israeli regime, including the assassination of the head of Hamas’ political office in Tehran and the attack on a school in Gaza.

Bagheri condemned the Israeli regime for over ten months of crimes and genocide in Gaza. He highlighted that Israel’s targeting of a school in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of innocent worshippers, the attack on a residential area in Beirut, and the recent assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, has violated the stability and security of the West Asia region.

Bagheri emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in defense of its national security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, based on international law, practices, and the United Nations Charter, will take decisive and legitimate actions to impose costs on the aggressive actions of the Israeli regime.

Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib expressed deep concern about the dangerous developments in the Middle East, stating that Brussels is worried about the worsening situation in the region, which could lead to an all-out war in West Asia.

Supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and condemning Israeli settlement activities, Lahbib reiterated Belgium’s support for the rights of Palestinian refugees and announced plans to impose sanctions on extremist Israeli settlers.

Lahbib stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, noting that given the deteriorating conditions in the region, all parties must exercise maximum restraint. She emphasized the importance of continued consultations between Tehran and Brussels.
