WANA (Dec 02) – Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, has returned to Beirut two months after sustaining injuries in a pager explosion in the country. Amani resumes his role as head of the Iranian mission in Lebanon.

Upon his arrival, Amani was warmly welcomed by officials from Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, Palestinian groups, Iranian institutions, and Raouf Sheibani, the special envoy of Iran’s Foreign Minister for West Asia.

During Amani’s absence, Sheibani temporarily assumed responsibilities at the embassy, managing interactions and consultations with Lebanese authorities and groups.

Amani was injured in late September during a bombing incident in Lebanon, reportedly carried out by the Israeli regime. He suffered injuries to his hand and eye and was transferred to Tehran for medical treatment.

The bombing was part of a series of terrorist acts attributed to Israel aimed at destabilizing Lebanon during that period.
