Iran’s Defense Minister: FATF Is Just an Excuse to Pressure Iran
WANA (Feb 28) – Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics stated: “Today, some people say that without FATF, our problems won’t be solved. Whether we join or not, FATF is just an excuse to exert pressure on Iran.”
He added: “Recently, Trump continued his malicious actions, saying he is ready to make peace with Iran on the condition that there is no nuclear program. However, in practice, he issued an executive order and threatened Iran.”
Explaining the U.S.’s excuses for pressuring Iran, he reiterated: “Many say that without FATF, our problems won’t be solved. But whether we become a member or not, FATF remains a pretext for pressuring Iran.”
Amir Nasirzadeh emphasized: “Iran has always been a target of Western and American excuses. No matter how much Iran compromises, they will always find a new excuse. In this document, Trump has listed 13 demands, and the issue is not just nuclear.”
The Defense Minister concluded: “Now, you, the people, should decide—is negotiating with such a wicked person wise and intelligent? We, as officials, must clarify all these matters for the public.”
