One Iranian, who had been stranded in Syria due to security concerns, successfully returned to Tehran after being unable to leave the country for some time. “We are pleased that this individual has safely returned,” he added.
On the case of Iranian citizen Abedini, detained in Milan, Italy, the spokesperson reiterated that from the outset, Iran believed this was a case of entrapment and hostage-taking, a practice that the United States has increasingly used in recent years. He expressed gratitude for the diplomatic efforts and cooperation of Italy in helping to secure Abedini’s release and return to Iran.
