Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Rejects U.S. Allegations of Election Interference
WANA (Oct 09) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has dismissed U.S. accusations of Iranian interference in the upcoming U.S. elections, calling the claims a “deliberate distortion of reality.”
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said, “The criminal gang of the Zionist regime is hastily trying to drag the entire region into a full-scale war, with the intent of influencing the outcome of the upcoming U.S. elections.”
He added, “Meanwhile, U.S. security agencies, likely misled by the deceptive tactics of the Zionist regime, are falsely accusing Iran of meddling in their internal affairs. This accusation is clearly a misleading distortion of reality.”
Baghaei’s remarks come in response to recent claims made by U.S. intelligence officials, who accused countries like Russia, Iran, and China of attempting to exploit the upcoming U.S. elections to undermine public confidence in the democratic process.
U.S. intelligence officials also alleged that foreign efforts to destabilize U.S. democracy would continue even after the November 5 presidential election, focusing on discrediting the election results once the polls close.
