WANA (Sep 17) – For the first time in the history of the WorldSkills competition, all Iranian IT competitors earned awards. The 47th WorldSkills 2024 competition started on Wednesday, September 11, for four days, hosted by France in the city of Lyon.

In a remarkable achievement for the Iranian IT community, the country secured one silver medal and five medallions at recent international competitions, according to Arvan Cloud’s public relations office.

The Iranian IT contestants competed against 147 participants, demonstrating their expertise and skill. In the “Cybersecurity” category, Hamidreza Hamidi and Hassan Mohammadi stood out by winning the silver medal, placing second behind a participant from Switzerland.

In addition to this impressive performance, five other Iranian representatives earned the prestigious Medallion of Excellence across various IT fields.

Alireza Pourchali competed in “Cloud Computing,” Amirreza Gholami in “Mobile Application Development,” Seyed Armin Taheri in “Network Systems Administration,” Amirabbas Ghasemi in “Web Technologies,” and Mehrdad Shirvani in “Software Solutions for Business.” These participants were supported and mentored by Arvan Cloud, which played a crucial role in their success.

Notably, the cloud computing and mobile application development categories were relatively new to the Iranian competitors, with their participation being made possible through Arvan’s mentorship and guidance.

Iranian competitors also achieved medallions in non-IT fields. Amir Mohammad Abouei earned a medallion in “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning,” Mohammad Hosseini in “Jewelry Making,” and Aryan Taheri in “Graphic Design Technology.”
